About technouveau

Technouveau is a small Copenhagen based design bureau dealing with imaginative escapist media and products. It's run by Danish designer and art director Rasmus Poulsen, who has 20 years of games industry experience.

We believe that dealing with aesthetics and musings of the imagination is a hallowed pursuit, and that given the ability and opportunity, we are obliged to do so.

Affiliates, Projects and Experience

Rasmus has been working as "technouveau" online since 2007, but has been an active professional in the game development scene as a concept artist and as an art director since 2004. He has had his home at Io Interactive over several occations, but has also spent time in Canada starting up the studio Square Enix Montreal as well as the Montreal custom of having a stint at Ubisoft.

Where do I get inspired?

  • I believe it's important to get buzzing by seeing what designers, makers and creators build and what worlds and design they realize. I get energized by it, and I want to join in, and I hope you feel the same way. A good place to start is in the Inspiration section.

What do you mean by insights?

  • The insights section contains links to the technouveau youtube channel where I discuss all aspects of the concept design process, from design thinking to 3D processes. This is a good place to get an inside view into the field, to get your assumptions challenged and to get inspired by surprisingly human approaches to thinking and processes.

How can I use the assets?

  • Most assets are for the free 3D software Blender 3D, but The Big Medium Small Modelshop Greebles assetpack, has support for Unreal and Cinema 4D as well. 

Who can use the assets?

  • Everyone, really. From production hardened professionals needing a productivity boost, to hobbyists that want to explore their imaginary designs and worlds.

What about studio licences?

  • Yes, we offer those. Get in touch via the email page, or visit our Gumroad. As for license details, you can find them in the About section.

Do you offer support on the assets?

  • Not at this time. Since I am a solo designer, I cannot promise that level of support, officially. If you have questions, get in touch and I will do my best to help.

How do I get started?

  • As for creativity and in relation to the craft, you can check out my youtube links in the Insights sections. To learn blender, search youtube for Grant Abbit, and you will find an amazing collection of Blender tutorials. He can guide you through the initial process of learning Blender.

Can you help me by giving me feedback?

  • Yes, if you join the Mentorship community via Discord, you can post you work and get feedback from myself and other talented artists.
